Where it came from
Lamina was released in 2022 by the independent label Kommando-84, emerging from a contemporary underground scene focused on experimental electronic textures. The project reflects the label's dedication to lo-fi aesthetics and non-traditional soundscapes, positioning the release as an artifact of modern niche electronica rather than a mainstream musical endeavor.
The visual identity and production choices associated with Pirx’s work on this record prioritize minimalism and tactile sonic experiences. By omitting a formal catalog number, the release emphasizes its status as a limited, artist-led initiative. Critical reception has been confined to specialized digital forums and electronic music circles, where it is regarded as a notable entry within the artist's limited discography.
