Lamina Christus

Lamina Christus was released in 1982 by the British post-punk ensemble Isolation Ward on the French imprint Crépuscule Section Française. Emerging from the post-punk and cold wave scenes of the early 1980s, the record embodies the atmospheric and minimalist soundscapes that characterized the label's output during this period. The release is reflective of the experimental climate in independent European music, where labels often prioritized avant-garde aesthetics and stark, artistic packaging.

The design of the record, cataloged as rad 008, follows the austere visual language common to Crépuscule releases, which frequently favored monochromatic, modernist graphics. While Isolation Ward remains a cult act from the Manchester scene, their work is documented as a significant contribution to the early 80s indie underground. The release was received as a niche, highly stylized artifact, cementing the band's status as a quintessential, if obscure, representative of the darker, introspective side of the post-punk movement.
