Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts

Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game during the early 2000s, originally appearing in the Metal Raiders expansion set. The card represents a core piece of the iconic fusion strategy employed by the protagonist Yugi Muto, specifically serving as the base material required to summon Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast. Its design draws heavily from the aesthetic of classic fantasy mythology, emphasizing a fierce, beast-like creature that fits the game's shift toward high-fantasy monster archetypes.

The Dark Beginning 2 version, coded as DB2-EN071, was released as part of a compilation set designed to reprint high-demand cards from earlier expansions for a new generation of players. While the card is a common-rarity normal monster with no special abilities, it remains a nostalgic touchstone for the franchise. It was received by the community as a foundational utility card, valued primarily for its role in enabling specific fusion combinations rather than for its competitive prowess in deck building.
