Harpie Lady

Harpie Lady, originally introduced in the early days of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, draws its inspiration from the characters used by the duelist Mai Valentine in the original anime series. The Metal Raiders set, released in the early 2000s, served as the second major booster expansion for the game, bringing essential support cards and iconic creatures to players who were transitioning from the initial Starter Deck format. This common version of the card allowed players to easily acquire multiple copies to utilize the monster's unique synergy with other Harpie-themed spells and traps.

The design of Harpie Lady reflects the aesthetic of the Kazuki Takahashi source material, emphasizing a harp-playing warrior motif that became a hallmark of the early sets. While common cards from Metal Raiders were produced in large quantities to satisfy demand during the game's initial surge in popularity, they remain significant to collectors as foundational pieces of the TCG's history. The artwork features the classic depiction that defined the character’s legacy throughout the subsequent decades of gameplay, serving as a nostalgic touchstone for those who began their collections at the turn of the millennium.
