Kazamatsuri Touma's favourite quiet cafe — where she reads recently bought books — will soon close, so she and Kageyama Torako look for another quiet place for Touma to read. Torako suggests the cake cafe nearby. And as it turns out the two girls really love the European cakes there, and can not resist trying them all out.

Where it came from
The Hyakko OVA, released in 2009, serves as an extension of the anime adaptation of the manga series written and illustrated by Haruaki Katoh. Produced by Nippon Animation, this standalone episode was designed to supplement the original 13-episode series that aired in 2008. The narrative continues the lighthearted school life of four students at Kamizono Academy, maintaining the comedic and slice-of-life tone that defined the source material.
The creative direction for the project focused on retaining the aesthetic established by the television series, characterized by its bright, expressive character designs. While the series garnered a dedicated niche following among fans of the high school comedy genre, the OVA functioned primarily as a direct-to-video gift for existing viewers. It was received as a gentle conclusion to the show's run, emphasizing the camaraderie between the core cast members without altering the established artistic style of the Nippon Animation team.
