W'z OVA

The W'z OVA was released in 2019 as a direct expansion of the W'z television anime series produced by the studio GoHands. Following the conclusion of the broadcast, the OVA served as a continuation and epilogue to the original narrative, which centered on the protagonist Yukiya and his involvement in a mysterious dimension known as Ziggurat. This project maintained the studio's distinctive visual identity, characterized by heavy reliance on 3D computer-generated backgrounds, vibrant lighting effects, and a stylized, fast-paced aesthetic that sought to bridge the gap between traditional animation and digital art.

GoHands is known for a polarizing, experimental approach to visual storytelling, and W'z fits squarely within their mid-2010s output aimed at emphasizing high-contrast cinematography. The OVA was crafted to offer fans of the series a final look at the characters’ progression following the televised events. While the series and its associated OVA drew significant attention for their unique technical execution, the overall reception remained mixed among critics and audiences, often noted more for its unconventional and busy visual choices than for its narrative depth.
