Where it came from
Dinosaur Cove was created as a children's adventure series, first published in the United Kingdom in 2008 before being translated into various languages, including this French edition by Pocket Jeunesse. The series was designed to appeal to early readers with a fascination for prehistoric creatures, blending factual dinosaur information with fast-paced, imaginative narratives centered on the protagonists Jamie and Tom.
The series was authored under the pseudonym Rex Stone, a pen name used by various writers to maintain a consistent tone across the expansive set of titles. The illustrations, which play a crucial role in grounding the young readers in the environment of the cove, were crafted to emphasize a sense of discovery and excitement, contributing to the books' popularity as a gateway for children transitioning into independent reading.
