Reiner Schiestl

This monograph, published in 1985 by the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum, serves as a comprehensive catalog dedicated to the Austrian artist Reiner Schiestl. It was produced in conjunction with the museum's efforts to document and preserve the work of regional figures who have contributed significantly to the cultural landscape of the Tyrol. The publication acts as a formal record of Schiestl's aesthetic evolution, providing scholars and art enthusiasts with an accessible collection of his representative works.

The book focuses on Schiestl's distinctive approach to figurative art and his commitment to traditional craftsmanship in a contemporary context. The design choices, reflecting the editorial standards of the Ferdinandeum during the mid-1980s, prioritize clear reproductions of his paintings and graphic works, allowing the artist's thematic explorations of human expression and regional identity to remain central. Upon its release, it was received as a essential resource for understanding the artist's legacy within the broader scope of Austrian post-war art.
