Where it came from
An Trí Is A Rian is an independent traditional Irish music album released by Claire Keville, John Weir, and Eithne Ní Dhonaile. As a private release, it reflects a deeply localized approach to musicianship, capturing the collaborative spirit of artists who are highly regarded within the specific circles of Irish traditional music. The album serves as a documentation of their shared repertoire, focusing on the preservation of tunes and styles that define their distinct regional musical heritage.
The album reflects the tradition of small-scale, self-produced recordings that allow artists to bypass commercial pressures and present their music with artistic autonomy. By eschewing a major record label, the trio maintained full control over the sonic texture and selection of the tracks, prioritizing a raw and authentic acoustic sound. The release is widely appreciated by aficionados of the genre for its technical proficiency and the respectful manner in which the musicians approach the complexities of the Irish canon.
