Taylormade

Taylormade serves as a definitive showcase for Tasha Taylor, the daughter of blues legend Johnnie Taylor. Released in 2011 through the Japanese label P-Vine Records, the album acts as a bridge between the classic soul traditions of her upbringing and a contemporary R&B sensibility. The production reflects a concerted effort to establish her distinct identity within the soul-blues landscape, balancing polished, modern arrangements with the grit expected of her family pedigree.

The album's design and sonic direction were crafted to highlight Taylor’s versatility as a songwriter and vocalist. By collaborating with a range of musicians to blend Memphis soul influences with modern grooves, the team behind the record sought to present a sophisticated, cohesive listening experience. Upon release, the project was received as a respectful evolution of the sound associated with her father’s legacy, earning praise for its vocal clarity and refined production values.
