2 Euros (Constitution of Andorra)

This 2-euro commemorative coin was issued by Andorra in 2018 to mark the 25th anniversary of the country’s 1993 Constitution. The adoption of this document was a landmark event that transformed Andorra from a feudal remnant under the joint suzerainty of the French President and the Bishop of Urgell into a modern, sovereign parliamentary democracy. The coin serves as a numismatic celebration of this constitutional transition and the subsequent integration of Andorra into the international community.

The design of the coin features an intricate representation of the Andorran coat of arms at the center, surrounded by text that commemorates the twenty-five years since the constitution's ratification. The composition was developed to reflect the formal dignity of the state, utilizing clear heraldic symbolism that balances traditional motifs with the contemporary aesthetic standards of the eurozone. It was minted to circulate as a standard commemorative piece, intended to honor the foundational legal document that defines the modern Andorran state.
