Where it came from
The 2014 Andorra 2 Euro coin commemorating the 20th anniversary of Andorra's accession to the Council of Europe was issued as part of the principality's first year of independent euro coinage. Following a 2011 monetary agreement with the European Union, Andorra was granted the right to issue its own euro coins starting in 2014, marking a significant milestone in the country's integration into the European financial landscape.
The coin features a design centered on the logo of the Council of Europe, accompanied by the inscription '20è aniversari de l'adhesió d'Andorra al Consell d'Europa'. The artwork reflects the diplomatic focus of the occasion, emphasizing Andorra's commitment to the values and standards of the organization. As the inaugural issue for the country, this coin became a highly sought-after piece for numismatists focusing on European commemorative series.
