2 Euros (Bearded vulture)

The 2025 Andorra 2 Euro commemorative coin features the bearded vulture, Gypaetus barbatus, as part of the country's ongoing series highlighting its unique alpine biodiversity. Andorra, while not a member of the Eurozone, maintains a monetary agreement with the European Union that allows it to mint its own euro coins in limited quantities, making these releases highly sought after by numismatists due to their specific production constraints and cultural themes.

The design prioritizes the dramatic profile of the bearded vulture, a bird of prey that was historically pushed to the brink of extinction in the Pyrenees before successful reintroduction efforts. The illustration captures the bird's distinctive plumage and imposing presence, rendered to reflect Andorra’s dedication to environmental conservation. Upon its release, the coin was noted by collectors for its fine detail and its role in bringing international attention to the conservation status of one of Europe’s rarest raptors.
