Comic X-Eros #116

Comic X-Eros, an anthology series published by Eros Comix, emerged during the 1990s as a significant outlet for underground erotic comics. Issue #116 fits within the magazine's long-running format, which provided a platform for both established and emerging artists to explore adult themes through varied illustrative styles. The series was deeply rooted in the alternative comics scene, prioritizing transgressive and boundary-pushing content that found its audience in independent comic shops and specialized bookstores during a period when the genre was gaining visibility.

The design and editorial philosophy of the title were centered on showcasing diverse artistic interpretations of erotica, often leaning into surrealism and bold graphic narrative. Artists contributing to this era of Eros Comix were frequently influenced by the legacy of underground comix pioneers, aiming to reclaim erotic art as a legitimate form of creative expression. While critical reception was often polarized due to the controversial nature of the subject matter, the series is now recognized as a key archive of independent erotic illustration from the late twentieth century.
