Comic X-Eros #115

Comic X-Eros #115 is part of a niche anthology series that gained a cult following during the 1990s and early 2000s. Published by Eros Comix, an imprint of Fantagraphics Books, the series was designed to showcase erotic art from various creators within the alternative comics scene. This particular issue follows the editorial mandate of the imprint, which sought to treat adult-oriented themes with the same stylistic dedication and artistic integrity as mainstream graphic novels, often pushing the boundaries of graphic storytelling in the independent market.

The creative direction for the series relied on rotating artists who were frequently drawn from the ranks of underground comix veterans and burgeoning independent illustrators. The aesthetic was intentionally raw and diverse, reflecting a wide range of pen-and-ink styles, from traditional cross-hatching to minimalist line work. Upon release, these issues were primarily distributed through specialty comic shops and alternative bookstores, where they were received as experimental contributions to a genre that was increasingly seeking artistic legitimacy within the comic book industry.
