DC Comics Presents #9

DC Comics Presents #9 was released in May 1979 as part of a long-running team-up anthology series designed to showcase DC's premier hero, Superman, alongside a rotating cast of guest characters. This specific issue features a pairing between Superman and the Metal Men, continuing the editorial tradition of exploring the intersection between the Man of Steel and the more unusual or science-fiction oriented corners of the DC universe during the late Bronze Age of comic books.

The issue features a script by Len Wein, a veteran writer known for his significant contributions to both Marvel and DC, and artwork by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez. Garcia-Lopez was highly regarded for his clean, definitive style, and his work on this title helped establish the internal DC style guide for character portrayals for many years. The story, which sees the heroes contending with the threat of the Plutonium Man, was generally received as a classic example of the standard team-up formula that defined the series' accessibility for new readers.
