The Fury of Firestorm #32

The Fury of Firestorm #32, released in February 1985, belongs to the middle period of the character's first ongoing series. During this era, writer Gerry Conway continued to evolve the title beyond its origin as a nuclear-powered body-swap story, leaning into more grounded geopolitical themes and complex supporting character development. The series maintained a distinct identity within the DC Universe by balancing high-concept science fiction elements with the personal struggles of Ronald Raymond and Professor Martin Stein.

The cover and interior art from this period often featured the work of artists like Rafael Kaynan or Joe Brozowski, who were tasked with depicting the unique visual challenges of Firestorm's elemental powers. The issue reflects the creative standards of mid-1980s DC comics, where the artistic focus was on kinetic action and the fluid, often chaotic nature of the character's fusion-based abilities. It remains a notable installment for fans of the Bronze Age of comic books who appreciate the character-driven narrative structure that defined Conway’s long run on the title.
