The Savage She-Hulk #13

The Savage She-Hulk #13 was published in February 1981, arriving toward the end of the original series' run. Created as a way to capitalize on the success of the television show The Incredible Hulk, the series sought to introduce a female counterpart to the character. By the time this issue was released, the creative team was working within the constraints of a book struggling to find a consistent audience, leading to a focus on more experimental or standalone narratives before the series concluded with issue #25.

The interior artwork for this period often featured artists like Bryan Hitch or Frank Springer, working under the editorial guidance of Marvel's transition-heavy early 1980s era. The design choices of the cover were intended to maintain brand visibility and comic book conventions of the time, emphasizing high-stakes action to distinguish the title from other Marvel offerings. While the series did not achieve the longevity of its peers, it is historically significant for establishing Jennifer Walters as a permanent, functional member of the Marvel Universe.
