Kuromi [AX Translucent Purple]

Kuromi, the mischievous rival character created by Sanrio in 2005, was introduced as an antagonist for My Melody in the series Onegai My Melody. Characterized by her iconic black jester's hat with a pink skull emblem, she embodies a rebellious spirit that distinguishes her from the traditional, sweeter aesthetic often associated with the Sanrio brand. Her enduring popularity led to her inclusion in the Funko Pop! Sanrio line, which aims to translate the diverse cast of the franchise into the brand's signature stylized vinyl form.

The Pop! Sanrio series, featuring figures like the number 62 Kuromi, represents a collaboration between the global character licensing company and Funko. This specific translucent purple variant offers a stylistic departure from standard opaque figures, reflecting a design trend within the collectible toy industry to produce chase or special edition variants that utilize different material finishes. These figures are generally received by collectors as aesthetic updates to established characters, focusing on visual variety while maintaining the recognizable silhouette designed by Sanrio artists.
