Where it came from
Lock, Shock, and Barrel were released as part of the Pop! Disney series to commemorate the enduring legacy of Tim Burton’s 1993 stop-motion film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. As the mischievous trio of trick-or-treaters who serve as Oogie Boogie's henchmen, they represent a pivotal element of the film's visual identity, defined by their distinct masks and chaotic personalities. Funko produced this figure, numbered 474, to capture the specific aesthetic of their design from the original movie, balancing the stylized proportions characteristic of the Pop line with the unsettling, whimsical nature of the characters.
The design of the figure reflects the collaborative spirit of the film’s original creative team, which drew heavily from the macabre illustrations of Tim Burton. By condensing three individual characters into one set, Funko utilized the figure to provide a dynamic representation of the film's supporting cast. Upon release, the set was received as a fan-favorite within the Nightmare Before Christmas collection, praised for its attention to detail regarding the trio’s unique attire and iconic bathtub-like transportation, which solidified its status as a staple for collectors of both the franchise and pop culture memorabilia.
