Where it came from
Locklock, also known as Rock Lock, was released as part of the Funko Pop! Animation line, specifically focusing on the expansive cast of the My Hero Academia franchise. Produced to capture the aesthetic of the professional hero Kenji Takehiru, the figure reflects the character's appearance during the Shie Hassaikai arc, where he plays a significant role in the raid against the Yakuza.
The design team at Funko focused on translating the character's distinct tactical gear and his signature ability to lock objects in place into the stylized, minimalist proportions characteristic of the Pop! brand. As part of a series that highlights secondary heroes alongside the series protagonists, the figure was well-received by collectors who prioritize completing the roster of professional heroes within their displays.
