Where it came from
Released as part of the Pop! Disney series by Funko, this figure captures the iconic scene from the 1994 animated classic The Lion King where the mandrill Rafiki presents the newborn Simba to the animals of the Pride Lands. The decision to produce this piece as a flocked variant adds a tactile, velvet-like texture to the figure, aiming to mimic the appearance of fur and provide a more premium, collector-focused aesthetic compared to the standard vinyl release.
The design follows Funko's signature stylized approach, balancing the character's recognizable facial features and vibrant, earthy color palette with the brand's trademark oversized head and minimalist proportions. Since its introduction, the figure has been well-regarded within the collecting community for its faithful representation of a seminal cinematic moment, serving as a nostalgic centerpiece for fans of the franchise and the wider Disney animation catalog.
