Where it came from
The Sally [Inverted] figure is part of the Pop! Art Series, a line launched by Funko to reimagine iconic characters through bold, patterned aesthetics inspired by fine art and graphic design. This specific piece draws its inspiration from the 1993 stop-motion classic The Nightmare Before Christmas, utilizing a distinct color inversion to present Sally in a stylized, high-contrast palette that deviates from her traditional film appearance.
The design focus for the Art Series is to elevate the standard vinyl format into a collectible aesthetic object. By applying intricate, non-traditional patterns and color schemes to the familiar silhouette of Sally, the designers aimed to appeal to fans seeking a contemporary, artistic interpretation of Tim Burton’s macabre, whimsical world. Upon release, the series was received as a stylistic departure that prioritized visual experimentation over screen accuracy.
