Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! VHS Covers line, this piece commemorates the 1994 Disney animated classic The Lion King. The design is intended to capture the nostalgia of home media, featuring the figure of Simba encased in a protective display that replicates the original aesthetic of the film's iconic VHS clamshell case.
The figure features Simba in his younger cub form, styled with the exaggerated proportions characteristic of the Pop! line. Funko designed this series to appeal to collectors who value cinematic memorabilia, and it was received as a bridge between modern vinyl figure collecting and the tangible history of physical home video releases.
