Where it came from
The Skeletor Art Series Pop! figure, designated number 17 in the collection, was released by Funko as part of a line featuring unique, stylized patterns applied to classic characters. These figures were produced to celebrate the enduring legacy of the Masters of the Universe franchise, which originated in the early 1980s as a toy line by Mattel and expanded into a global cultural phenomenon through animated series and comics.
The design of this specific figure utilizes a distinct, vibrant geometric pattern over the iconic skull-faced antagonist, departing from the standard molded plastic aesthetic. This series was created to appeal to collectors interested in the intersection of pop culture icons and modern graphic design, aiming to offer a collectible that functions as both a nostalgic nod to the 80s and a contemporary display piece. Like other entries in the Art Series, it was marketed through exclusive retail channels to target dedicated fans of the franchise.
