Where it came from
Sukjai was introduced as part of the Pop! Asia line, a series designed by Funko to celebrate cultural icons, mascots, and characters specific to the Asian market. The character of Sukjai serves as the official mascot for the Tourism Authority of Thailand, representing the 'happiness' and 'joy' that the organization aims to promote to international visitors. Its design simplifies the mascot's traditional Thai aesthetic into the characteristic stylized, large-headed format that defines the Funko Pop aesthetic.
This specific black and white colorway serves as a variant of the standard full-color figure. Released to appeal to collectors who favor monochromatic or chase-style aesthetics, the figure maintains the recognizable features of the mascot while stripping away the vibrant hues usually associated with the Thai tourism campaign. Like many entries in the Pop! Asia series, this item was primarily distributed through regional markets, making it a sought-after piece for enthusiasts of international brand mascots.
