Where it came from
The LEGO Star Wars Magnet Set 852554-1 was released in 2009 as part of a series of promotional and retail magnet packs designed to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the LEGO Star Wars theme. These sets typically featured three classic minifigures mounted on individual plastic bases that were permanently attached to a long, magnetic display brick, allowing fans to showcase iconic characters from the saga in a compact, displayable format.
The set includes minifigures of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca, reflecting their appearances from the original trilogy. While the minifigures themselves were designed to be removable from their molded plates in earlier versions, this specific run utilized a permanent adhesive or mechanical bond to secure the figures to the backing, a design choice intended to ensure the integrity of the set for display purposes. It was received as a functional, collectible accessory for enthusiasts looking to broaden their minifigure displays beyond standard building sets.
