Where it came from
Released by The LEGO Group in 2009 under the set number 852715-1, this magnet set was part of a broader initiative to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the Star Wars franchise. These sets were designed to serve as functional desk or refrigerator accessories, featuring minifigures that were permanently attached to their respective rectangular bricks, a design choice that was intended to keep the figures secure while displaying the iconic characters.
The set includes three key figures from the prequel and original trilogies: Luke Skywalker in his pilot gear, Han Solo, and a Rebel Pilot. The design prioritized recognizable aesthetics from the films, aiming to appeal to both adult collectors and younger fans of the LEGO Star Wars line. While these sets were well-received by fans for their convenience, they were also noted by collectors for the permanent adhesive used on the minifigures, which prevents them from being removed or repurposed without damaging the plastic.
