Where it came from
Arcane Proxy was released in 2022 as part of The Brothers' War, a Magic: The Gathering set centered on the iconic conflict between brothers Urza and Mishra. The card draws heavily from the set's aesthetic of retro-futuristic, brass-and-gear industrial design, intended to evoke the mechanical complexity of the artificers featured throughout the storyline.
Illustrated by artist Lius Lasahido, the design captures the essence of a clockwork construct built to replicate and stabilize magical energy. The card mechanics, which allow players to cast spells from their graveyard, were received positively by the community for their versatility, solidifying the Proxy as a staple piece for players interested in high-utility artifacts.
