Provenance

Where it came from

The Assassin token was produced for the 2023 Magic: The Gathering set titled Commander Masters. This set was specifically designed as a premium, draftable product focused on the Commander format, featuring a curated selection of powerful reprints and new art to appeal to established players looking to upgrade their decks.

The art for this specific Assassin token was created by artist Fajareka Setiawan. The design leans into a dark, shadowy aesthetic that complements the mechanics associated with assassin-themed cards, which typically utilize the 'deathtouch' keyword. As a functional accessory token, it was designed for clarity during gameplay while maintaining the high-art standards expected of a Master-tier expansion.
