What it does

Equipped creature gets +2/+2, has haste, can't attack you or planeswalkers you control, and can't be sacrificed.

Provenance

Where it came from

The Assault Suit card was originally released as part of the Commander 2014 set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. It was designed as an artifact equipment piece intended to encourage dynamic multiplayer interaction by allowing opponents to utilize the equipped creature while preventing them from attacking the card's controller, effectively turning the creature into a shared, escalating threat.

The card features artwork by illustrator Johannes Voss. His design aesthetic for this piece emphasizes the imposing, heavy-duty nature of the suit, visually reflecting the mechanical flavor text that describes the equipment as a dangerous boon. Upon its release, it became a popular inclusion in Commander decks for its unique political utility and ability to force combat among opponents.
