Bear with Set's Mechanic

Bear with Set's Mechanic emerged from the 2021 Mystery Booster Playtest Cards, a unique initiative by Wizards of the Coast designed to explore experimental game design space. These cards were distributed at conventions and in specific booster packs as a meta-commentary on the evolution of Magic: The Gathering, intentionally mimicking the aesthetic and unfinished nature of internal R&D test prints.

The card was illustrated by Annie Sardelis, who adopted a deliberately stripped-down, sketch-like style to fit the playtest theme.
