Beast

The Beast token, numbered 6 in the Edge of Eternities Commander Tokens series, was produced by Wizards of the Coast to support the mechanics introduced in the associated Magic: The Gathering expansion. These tokens serve as physical representations of temporary game states, specifically created to be generated by various spells and abilities that summon creature entities onto the battlefield. The design reflects the visual language established for the Edge of Eternities set, emphasizing a high-fantasy aesthetic that aligns with the mechanical flavor of the cards that produce them.

The artistic direction for these tokens focuses on conveying the raw, untamed nature of the creature, utilizing a bold color palette and dynamic pose to ensure immediate visual recognition during gameplay. As part of a utility-driven subset of the larger product line, the token was designed by the Wizards of the Coast illustration team to be both functional and immersive. It was well-received by the player community for its clear design and thematic consistency with the primary card set, fulfilling its intended role as a standard accessory for Commander format participants.
