Provenance

Where it came from

The Centaur token, numbered 10 in the Ravnica Remastered token set, was released in early 2024 as part of Wizards of the Coast's effort to curate iconic elements from the plane of Ravnica. Tokens serve a utilitarian role in Magic: The Gathering, representing creatures created by gameplay effects, and this particular design specifically supports cards from the Selesnya Conclave guild, which emphasizes themes of nature, community, and populate mechanics.

The visual design draws from the established aesthetic of the Ravnica plane, emphasizing the distinct blend of urban architecture and untamed nature characteristic of the Selesnya faction. As a piece of functional ephemera, it was produced to be easily legible for players during fast-paced matches, reflecting the high production standards of modern remaster sets which often feature updated or refined art treatments compared to original printings.
