Where it came from
Diplomatic Relations was released as part of the Edge of Eternities expansion, a set centered on the fragile political landscapes of a fictional interstellar federation. Designed to reflect the themes of negotiation and conflict resolution within the game's mechanics, the card serves as a pivotal utility piece, allowing players to manipulate board states through non-combative means.
The artwork, executed by a featured illustrator for the series, employs a minimalist aesthetic that contrasts with the high-fantasy visuals common to the rest of the set. Upon its release, the card received moderate attention from competitive players who appreciated its tactical versatility, though it remains a niche favorite among those who prioritize strategic nuance over direct force.
