Eldrazi

The Eldrazi token, specifically the 10/10 colorless Spawn variant associated with card TM3C-1, represents the terrifying, world-consuming entities from the Magic: The Gathering multiverse. Originating from the 2010 expansion Rise of the Eldrazi, these creatures were designed to embody a Lovecraftian sense of cosmic horror, characterized by their lack of traditional color identity and their capacity to warp the fabric of the game itself. The design team, led by Brian Tinsman, sought to differentiate these beings from standard fantasy tropes by focusing on alien biology and immense, destructive scale.

This specific iteration appears in 'The List,' a curated selection of reprints and tokens included in Set Boosters starting in 2020. This program was introduced by Wizards of the Coast to bring iconic or thematic elements from the game's long history to modern players, ensuring that even as the aesthetic evolution of the Eldrazi shifted from their initial Zendikar appearance to their later, more intricate forms, the classic representation remained accessible to new generations of collectors.
