Eldrazi

The Eldrazi token, produced as part of the Tarkir: Dragonstorm Commander product line, serves as a functional accessory for Magic: The Gathering gameplay. These tokens were introduced to represent the mechanical manifestations of the Eldrazi—ancient, reality-warping entities within the game's multiverse—specifically tied to cards that create creature tokens during matches. The design choice reflects the game's ongoing effort to provide tactile components that assist players in tracking the state of the board.

The visual language of the Eldrazi tokens typically emphasizes the faction's signature aesthetic: surreal, unsettling, and alien features characterized by muted color palettes and jagged, chitinous anatomy. While the specific art for this token was commissioned by Wizards of the Coast to maintain consistency with the established Eldrazi visual identity, it represents the collaborative work of the company's internal art direction team and freelance illustrators tasked with maintaining a cohesive look across the Commander deck releases.
