Exotic Orchard

Exotic Orchard is a land card featured in the Magic: The Gathering 'Doctor Who' Commander set released in October 2023. As part of a collaborative release under the Universes Beyond banner, the card was included to provide mana-fixing utility within the multi-colored archetypes of the Doctor Who preconstructed decks. The artwork reflects the vibrant, otherworldly flora often depicted across the long-running science fiction series' various planetary settings, blending traditional Magic: The Gathering land aesthetics with the whimsical visual language of the show.

The design of this printing was handled by the internal art and design teams at Wizards of the Coast, who sought to integrate the Doctor Who intellectual property into established gameplay mechanics. While the mechanical function of the card remains consistent with previous printings of Exotic Orchard, this iteration serves as a thematic bridge for players constructing decks centered around the series' companions and incarnations of the Doctor. It was generally well-received by the player base as a functional and appropriately themed addition to the commander format.
