Provenance

Where it came from

Force of Vigor was originally printed in the 2019 Modern Horizons set, designed to provide players with a powerful, versatile answer to artifacts and enchantments. The card functions as a free spell if a green card is exiled from the hand, allowing for high-impact plays that changed the landscape of competitive formats by punishing decks reliant on permanents.

The Breaking News variant, numbered 29, was introduced in the Outlaws of Thunder Junction set. This special subset utilized a stylistic, tabloid-inspired aesthetic featuring bold, monochromatic headlines and gritty illustrations. This particular treatment reimagines the classic card through the lens of a vintage crime-noir newspaper, emphasizing the explosive, disruptive nature of the spell.
