Fortune Teller

Fortune Teller was released as part of the Unfinity set in 2022, representing the fourth installment in Wizards of the Coast's 'Un-' series. These sets are designed to experiment with unconventional card mechanics and humorous, self-referential humor that fall outside the traditional competitive rules of Magic: The Gathering. The set was conceived as a thematic nod to a retro-futuristic sci-fi carnival, bridging the gap between surreal humor and the game's standard mechanical framework.

The card features artwork by illustrator Anna Steinbauer, who utilized a vivid, whimsical style to capture the essence of a carnival sideshow. As a member of the set's 'sticker' and 'attraction' mechanics-focused card pool, it was designed to introduce layers of randomness and table-top interaction. While the card is not legal in tournament play, it was well-received by casual players for its distinct visual identity and the playful, imaginative tone that defines the Unfinity design philosophy.
