Fury

Fury was released as part of the Secret Lair drop series by Wizards of the Coast, specifically featured within the 'Secret Lair x Street Fighter' collaboration. This collection was designed to bridge the worlds of Magic: The Gathering and the iconic Capcom fighting game franchise, reimagining classic game characters as legendary creature cards within the Magic ruleset. The card art was created by various artists commissioned to capture the kinetic aesthetic of the original arcade aesthetic while adhering to the standard card frame layouts of the collectible card game.

The reception of this drop was primarily driven by the novelty of the intellectual property crossover and the inclusion of unique, mechanically distinct cards that featured art inspired by Street Fighter's visual style. As a part of a limited-time print-on-demand window, these cards were intended for players and collectors seeking themed, aesthetic variations of powerful gameplay staples. The artistic direction prioritized a blend of high-fantasy illustration and the vibrant, bold color palettes associated with 1990s fighting game design, marking a notable moment in the game's ongoing 'Universes Beyond' expansion initiative.
