The card functions as a red burn spell that deals two damage to a target, with a unique secondary effect that triggers when an opponent causes the player to discard it, dealing four damage instead. This mechanic reflected the set's focus on interactive gameplay and rewarding players for navigating discard-heavy strategies.

The Tenth Edition printing features illustration by Anson Maddocks, a foundational artist for the early years of the game.
