Island // Island

The Duskmourn: House of Horror Art Series cards were released in 2024 as part of a subset of collectible cards found within set boosters for the Magic: The Gathering expansion. This series was designed to showcase the vivid, macabre aesthetics of the Duskmourn plane, a world modeled after 1980s horror tropes and haunted house narratives. These cards are strictly artistic, featuring the full-art illustration on the front with no functional game text, intended solely for collectors to appreciate the detailed world-building and character design commissioned for the set.

This specific entry, collector number 28, features the land card Island. The illustration captures the eerie, surreal atmosphere of the House, emphasizing the set's signature aesthetic of liminal spaces and supernatural dread. The art reflects the overarching design goal of the expansion, which moved away from traditional fantasy landscapes toward a claustrophobic, domestic horror style. Upon release, these art cards were well-received by collectors for their high-quality print finish and the opportunity to view the set's conceptual artwork in a larger format.
