Jade Monolith

Jade Monolith was originally released in the 1994 Magic: The Gathering set Legends, designed by Richard Garfield to introduce multi-colored cards and legendary creatures to the game. The specific version known as the Summer Magic or 'Edgar' printing remains one of the most storied rarities in trading card history; it originated from an accidental, limited print run of the Revised Edition intended to correct various mechanical errors and card text inconsistencies. Because the vast majority of this batch was slated for destruction due to a lack of quality control, the few cards that escaped the facility into the private market have become legendary artifacts among serious collectors.

The card features artwork by Susan Van Camp, who contributed numerous pieces to the early Magic: The Gathering catalog.
