Control Magic

Control Magic from the Summer Magic set, colloquially known as Edgar, originated from a 1994 attempt by Wizards of the Coast to correct printing errors and color balance issues found in the earlier Revised Edition of Magic: The Gathering. Due to a series of distribution mishaps and internal quality control concerns, the majority of the print run was never officially released to the public through standard retail channels, leading the set to be largely destroyed or held in storage for years before resurfacing in limited quantities.

The card features the classic illustration by Dameon Willich, which captures the essence of early fantasy aesthetic prevalent in the game's first few years. As a corrected print, the set exhibits distinct color saturations compared to other iterations of the era, making it a significant piece of design history for dedicated collectors who study the technical evolution and printing anomalies of the game's formative years.
