Jwar Isle Refuge

Jwar Isle Refuge was originally introduced in the Zendikar expansion set in 2009, reflecting the plane's emphasis on lands as a core mechanic. It was later reprinted in the 2016 Planechase Anthology, a collection that brought together multiple supplemental products centered around the multiplayer variant of Magic: The Gathering that utilizes oversized cards and planar travel mechanics.

The card was illustrated by Cyril Van Der Haegen, who opted for a vibrant, ethereal aesthetic to capture the floating, mystical nature of the Isle. The design was intended to provide players with a functional 'dual land' that offered both mana utility and minor life gain, a staple design philosophy for uncommon lands meant to stabilize gameplay in limited and casual formats.
