Where it came from
Krosan Grip was originally released in the 2006 Time Spiral expansion, serving as a powerful utility spell designed to combat artifacts and enchantments. The card introduced the 'split second' keyword to the game, a mechanic that prevents players from responding to the spell with other spells or activated abilities, effectively ensuring the destruction of a target permanents without interference.
The Modern Masters version, released in 2013, features artwork by Dan Dos Santos. As part of a set curated to reprint impactful cards for the Modern format, this iteration utilized the updated card frame and high-quality art direction consistent with the expansion's goal of reintroducing essential staples to a new generation of players.
