Launch the Fleet was originally introduced in the Journey into Nyx set for Magic: The Gathering in 2014, designed as a showcase for the heroic mechanic. The card allows players to generate an army of creature tokens equal to the number of creatures they control that are targeting a spell, rewarding an aggressive, board-wide strategy. Its inclusion in the Warhammer 40,000 Commander set as a rare card featuring Games Workshop art reflects a thematic bridge between the two intellectual properties, adapting its mechanical focus on swarm tactics to fit the militaristic aesthetic of the Imperium of Man.

The artwork for this specific version was provided by Games Workshop, utilizing existing illustrative assets from the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
