Provenance

Where it came from

Lightning Greaves first appeared in the 2003 Magic: The Gathering set Mirrodin, designed as an equipment card that grants both haste and shroud to a creature. The card became a staple of the Commander format due to its efficiency in protecting key permanents, leading Wizards of the Coast to feature it in numerous reprints and special editions.

The Secret Lair Drop version, specifically collector number 2062, was released as part of the specialized, visually distinct printings offered through the company's direct-to-consumer platform. This iteration features unique artistic direction commissioned to refresh the item's aesthetic, aiming to provide collectors with a stylized, premium alternative to the original industrial design while maintaining the game mechanics that made the card iconic.
