Where it came from
The Minions card is a front card from the Magic: The Gathering Jumpstart set, released in 2020 as a unique way to facilitate quick, randomized gameplay. Jumpstart was designed to lower the barrier to entry for new players by allowing them to shuffle two thematic packs together to form a complete deck, with these front cards serving as a visual indicator of the pack's contents and primary theme.
The design of this specific card features artwork by Wizards of the Coast artists, capturing the playful and chaotic nature of the Minion theme. While these cards are intended primarily as functional components to identify deck archetypes rather than traditional collectable trading cards, they have gained a niche following among completionists who seek to archive the full spectrum of thematic variants released within the Jumpstart project.
